Workout of the Day

Every 3 minutes for 7 sets, complete:
10/15-calorie Echo bike
10 knees-to-elbows
100-foot dumbbell farmers carry

Rest with the remaining time in each interval. Note: Each round is for time.

♂ 50-lb dumbbells

Post your fastest and slowest intervals.

Stimulus and Strategy:
Today’s workout contains 7 sprint-style efforts. The goal is to complete each set as quickly as possible so you have plenty of rest before the next interval begins. The loading of the dumbbells should allow you to perform each farmers carry unbroken. Sprint on the bike and don’t hold anything back. Go for broke.

Scaling:
Reduce the loading of the dumbbells.

To reduce the complexity of the knees-to-elbows, reduce the range of motion. For the farmers carry, consider using only one dumbbell.

In case of injury or limitation, use any machine available to complete your calories. For the knees-to-elbows, perform hanging knee raises or lying toes-to-bars. For the farmers carry, perform 10 unloaded box step-ups.

10 knees-to-chests
100-foot dumbbell farmers carry

Coaching cues:
On the knees-to-elbows, focus on pressing down and leaning back a bit more in your back swing, compared to toes-to-bars.

Died starting in round 5. Nothing left by the end. Unbroken K2E through round 4, but was losing the kip. Rounds 5-7, broke 7-3 or 6-4. Unbroken carries, but was close - grip was gone. RPMs as high as 85+ in early rounds, hard to stay above 60 at the end.

Made this up on a rest day for 2 reasons: 1) Coastie called me out; 2) It looked like something I could do with minimal detriment to the benefits of a rest day. Set the C2 on drag 7 - slowest row 33 sec, fastest 29 sec. Transitions from rower to bar were a little clunky today. Chose to stick with intermediate weight because strapping plates together to get Rx weight wouldn't have worked out well doing the FCs in between cars down the driveway and back (probably would have made contact). Jogged the FCs too. Decided to split between KTC and KTE since it is supposed to be a rest day after all.


Might be interested in doing a side-by-side comparison between the Row erg and Echo/Assault style bike for 15 cal - would the result be in the same time domain? What about the C2 on drag 10 vs. 7, would that result in the same times? I would think a drag of 10 would be faster if the same s/m could be maintained as on 7.

couldnt hang on for all 10 KTE the last round. Otherwise was able to push the burpees a little each time to cut that down. I’d like to try this RXd tomorrow if possible. See how the burpees compare to the bike!

I didnt have an echo bike at my so i used the stationary bike for 35 seconds each round. Once i got around set 4-5 i started to fail at the knee to chests and started doing knee raises. But overall 32:25

globo wod: sub cal assault bike, 15/20 cal row, or 15 burpees for echo bike. if a pullup bar isnt available sub v ups for knees to elbows. split up the distance of the farmers carry to fit your space, but get 100ft total, note split in comments.
